Government Building and Mosque

The gallery was around the corner from this building. The Sultan Abdul Samad Building is a late-nineteenth century building located along Jalan Raja in front of the Independence Square. The building originally housed the offices of the British colonial administration, and was known simply as Government Offices in its early years. In 1974 it was renamed after the reigning sultan of Selangor at the time when construction began.

Behind the building, we crossed the river and went to the Masjid Jamek mosque. We had to cover our legs to get in, which they kindly lend you. Kuala Lumpur is known as the second friendliest city as mentioned by the guy who gave us the pants. He asked where we were from and informed us that Vancouver was the city that beat KL for that title.
