We had a very early start on Thursday morning. We were up, showered, had breakfast and on the road by 7:15am. Today we drove 3.5 hours to Memphis to the home of Elvis Presley, Graceland. After driving through sudden rain storms, cooler weather and eventually ending in hot, humid weather again, we arrived just before 11am.
Graceland consists of two major areas in the whole complex: the mansion and the Elvis Presley Entertainment Complex. Our visit started in the entertainment complex with a short video detailing Elvis’ life before moving to the shuttle bus line up. The mansion, Elvis Presley’s home, is across the street from where we were and is only accessible via shuttle bus.
