Konichiwa!!

We landed in Tokyo around 4:40pm on Friday. The flight was pretty smooth and the service on JAL airlines was excellent.
The line for immigration was long but not too crazy. It moved quite quickly, unfortunately our airline crew neglected to give us one of the required forms so everyone from our flight was scrambling in the line to get the other form filled in.
Past immigration, we headed to the Narita Express train ticket line up so we could make our way into the city. $31.00 later (each) we had our tickets, but had to wait almost another hour for the correct train to Shinjuku station. The train ride took about 1 hour 40 minutes with only 3 short stops the whole journey. We both dozed off for some of the ride since we’ve been up for almost 24 hours with little sleep.
After arriving we made our way out of the gigantic station without much hassle. I tend to get confused which exit to take out of the stations over here. However here is where things started to go sideways. We booked an Airbnb for the first 2 nights. The owner sent me the address and some written directions with photos entailing 15 steps. What I should have done was follow the printed instructions and photos. Instead, I plugged the address into Google maps. We walked about 20 minutes to the Google maps destination dragging our luggage through the streets of Tokyo. This didn’t look like the correct place. After looking at the printed instructions and photos nothing looked familiar. And all the landmarks on the instructions were not unique so doing additional searches on “Mister Donut” was not helpful because we didn’t know which one to follow. To make a long story shorter, we finally found something to search on and when we compared google to our printed map we finally made it to our apartment for the night. Our 20 minute walk ended taking us about 1.5 hours. Luckily it wasn’t raining. {CAPTION}

After dropping off our bags we headed out again to find something to eat. We ended up at a noodle place around the corner from our apartment. We both had a pork ramen soup which was just OK.
On our way back for the evening we stopped at the 7-11 and got some buns for breakfast as well as some yogurt and juice. By this time it was almost 11pm so it was time to get some sleep.
