Disembarking the ship was pretty easy. We decided to walk to our next apartment from the ferry terminal as Google Maps showed it was only a 20-25 minute walk. We meandered our way along the waterfront then cut through some business buildings and finally made our way to the cobble stone street of the old town of Tallinn.
Google was not our friend for this. The GPS was having a hard time keeping up and kept pointing us down some streets that were slightly off from the streets we should have been on. Plus, suitcase wheels and cobble stones are not a good mix.
Google finally got us to our street so we headed up looking for our place. We walked halfway up and we were lost. I texted our Airbnb guy and he said we were close. He gave me more cryptic directions which took us up the hill further, then to some steep stairs (again, we have rolling luggage here) and finally to another street that was directly behind the street we were just on. It turned out, if we had gone up one more street originally, we would have found our place without having to hike our bags up that set of stairs.
The apartment was interesting inside. Parts of it looked like the brick wall that surrounds the old town. It was great that we were right inside the walled city. It made for maximizing our sightseeing time in Tallinn.
Those pillows look mighty thin! 🙂
you definitely don’t want to blow a wheel on your luggage. everything looks so neat and clean. the apt doesn’t look quite as luxurious as the last one. in fact it looks very cold.
